Golden Raspberry Preserve:

I’ve made strawberry and nectarine preserves earlier. A trip to the farmer’s market got me some golden raspberries… Looking at them sitting pretty in the fridge and the fear of making some dessert that I would be tempted to finish myself, led to the decision of making a preserve. It lasts up to 2-3 weeks when refrigerated.


Raspberries - 1 Cup

Sugar - 1 Cup

Lemon juice - 1 Tspn(optional)


              Put sugar, raspberries and lemon juice in a vessel on medium heat. Mash the raspberries and bring to boil and keep stirring. While boiling if a frothy layer forms on top simple remove the froth. It takes about 10 minutes max to come to the right consistency. Bottle it in a clean Click on the photo to refer to the original recipe. Try this with red raspberries and try layering them one above the other or mixing it up… Add cinnamon if you want to spice it up a bit…

I must warn you that it’s full of seeds. So be ready to bite into many many seeds… Also raspberries quickly mold when left at room temperature, and only last a couple of days in the refrigerator. So if you buy some be ready to make something of it quickly. If you want to make it seedless then you’ll have to puree the mixture and strain it

Enjoy with a slice of bread… Or use it to layer cakes… Or fill it in cookies
